Properties of labels<\/h1>\n

Additional coding on labels is most common when preprinted high graphical (colour) labels are used. These are pre-printed in bulk after which the variable information like for example a best-before date or lot number is added on the production line. The flexibility to print variable information “on-demand” prevents wasting of materials. Coding exact quantities not only rules out any possibility that labels are thrown away because the information is outdated but also if product demand turns out to be different.<\/p>\n

Suitable coding techniques for labels<\/h2>\n

Printing of variable information onto labels can be done by both Thermal Transfer<\/a><\/span><\/span> as well as Hotprint<\/a><\/span><\/span>. Thermal Transfer offers more flexibility because the label information can be entered digitally. Hotprint is an economical alternative if coding does not change very often, or when printing incremental numbers or dates is sufficient. This can then be done by a date or datewheel.
